Learn how to make your Adobe account more secure by setting up two-step verification.
What is two-step verification?
Two-step verification is an additional authentication method that you can use for your Adobe account to make it more secure. You can use the Adobe Account Access app to sign in securely or receive sign-in verification codes by email or text message.
Two-step verification for your Adobe account is optional but recommended. If we detect an unusual login, we may email you a code to verify your identity even if you aren’t enrolled in two-step verification.
How to turn on two-step verification

In the Two-step verification section, use the toggle to enable any of the following methods of authentication:
- Sign in with Adobe Account Access app: Use this option to sign in securely without a password. Enabling this app also enables email and phone as your backup authentication methods.
- Verify with email: If you enable this option, Adobe sends you a code on your mail when you sign in. Enabling this option also enables your phone as a backup method of authentication automatically (if it's already added).
- Verify with text messages (SMS): If you enable this option, Adobe sends you a code on your phone when you sign in. (You may need to first add a phone number.) Enabling this option enables your email as a backup method of authentication.
If you've already provided information for all authentication methods, you are prompted to enable all methods at the same time.

How to turn off or deactivate two-step verification

Sign in at https://account.adobe.com/security.

In the Two-step verification section, disable any of the following methods of authentication:
- Sign in with Adobe Account Access app: Use this option to disable the Adobe Account access app.
- Verify with email: Disable this option to deactivate email as your two-step verification method.
- Verify with text messages (SMS): Disable this option to deactivate your phone as your preferred two-step verification method.
Disabling one method of authentication automatically disables its backup method of authentication as well. -
Confirm that you want to deactivate the two-step verification.
Once these authentication methods are disabled, you receive an onscreen message and an email, confirming that two-step verification has been deactivated.
If your Adobe account is part of a company or school account, and if your IT admin has turned on two-step verification at the organizational level:
- You can't deactivate both email and SMS options. You can deactivate one or the other, but not both. If you try to deactivate both options, you are prompted with the following message:
- You must provide a mobile phone number, and you can't turn this option off. If you try to turn off the mobile phone option, you are prompted with the following message:
